i was reading the papers today and you know what? Bradford University Hockey Club are now famous! There was a story all about us. Apparently the Queen had heard about us! Infact it seems we have incurred her wrath............

Apparently the Queen has officially announced that from now on the date of each and every royal function is going to be brought forward by six weeks. As well as this each and every public holiday is now going to be brought forward by five weeks. Also the Queen has announced that from hence forward she is going to have a birthday celebration three times a year. (of course these will now be celebtrated 6 weeks in advance).

The reason for this proposterous dictate?

The Queen no longer wants to be upstaged by us, apparently she has heard that we are celebrating christmas a full 29 days early and one is not amused. She is the Queen after all and should be allowed to set the trend as it were when it comes to deciding when we should be celebrating special dates and public holidays.
The Queen is aware that God would maybe like a say because it was he after all that decided that Jesus (his son) should be born on the 25th of December. (supposedly that is why we celebrate christmas on this date). As such she is going to get back to us on when she will be celebrating Christmas.

Well when you've got no job, no friends and lots and lots of time to ones self, counting days and writing little stories must be a blessing in disguise and fill some of your day!

Sweaty you make the point that we a celebrating the christmas dinner a whole 29 days early but what you are forgetting is that the term for those people still at uni finishes a good ten days before chrismas so surely you cant count them days as people will start going home. Also this was the most popular date with a lot of people because some people actually go out and work for a living and approaching christmas can not get time off. So just get off the girls backs they are doing their best to try and keep everyone happy so they could do without your bitchy attitude.

Scouse, having discussed this with me quite extensively on saturday i am very suprised that you should think i am being 'bitchy' or that i have a 'bitchy' attitude. Also wasnt it your assertion that the ''some people actually go out and work for a living and approaching christmas can not get time off'' amounted to three people?

Im not having a go at anybody, i find the whole thing very amusing, i also know for certain that other people also have a senseof humor. Even so i dont thing that i shall make my post about easter tour being brought forward to February!

i dont liek to admit it but i agree with sweaty/sweety on this subject. Why has teh dinner been moved anyway? i could go at first but i cant now, And why is soooooo expensive. £16 is loads for this time of term. What is included?

Hmm, I wonder if she could bring a new daylight saving hour in every hour. Thus creating a loophole in the new 24 hour drinking rules and leaving the Peel open for business for ever! Hurrah! Save the Queen!

Oh, and by the way, I can think of at least four people who would want to come to the meal just off the top of my head and for a team that has so many old boys it is essencial we consider that sort of thing. All the students will be going home two weeks afterwards anyway.

By the way, why the hell do we need an excuse for a party??!!

I cant really see her maj being good at table football, but i imagine those willing to save the queen could get a knighthood or an MBE at the least.

Scoops - I dont think that was an invitation to turn up naked and covered in grease. And even if it was, please dont. Its just not right...

Well, I wouldn't want to limit your options but 2 would mean you'd have to do the walk to the pub naked. And thats usually a spoofing fine.
